The Rila Run 2023 competition has finished
The competition in mountain running "Rila Run" has finished. Almost 100 participants started from the entrance of the Iskar stadium in Samokov, along the route with the final highest peak on the Balkans - Musala (2925 m).
The competitors climbed up to the Sokolets camp, continued up to the Yastrebets peak, where was the finish of the shortened distance of 14 km. We are proud to announce that the winner of this discipline is our colleague Lilia Kochova - head of the rope town "Borolandia" and ski school "Borosport". Lily is a former national alpine ski racer - a champion who stops at nothing. Another Borosport employee, Svilen Dokuzov, came in sixth place in the men's short course category. Well done, colleagues!
The winners in the long distance with the finish "Musala Peak" are our well-known athletes Shaban Mustafa and Milka Mikhailova.
The champion Shaban Mustafa (OSCLA Champion - Sungurlare) triumphed in Rila Run 2023 and set a new record of 2:18:59 on the renovated course from the town of Mila. Samokov to Musala Peak.
With a time of 2:28:43 and a difference of almost 10 minutes from the winner of the final, the second place in Rila Run 2023 deserved Nikola Kondarev from Sofia, and the third place on the podium remained for the winner of the previous three races of the Five Mountains circuit - Ivaylo Atanasov, who finished with a time of 2:31:33.
First in the women with time 3:18:30 is Milka Mihaylova from club Dunav - Ruse (age group over 50). The ladies' podium was topped by Bela Duleva from Sofia (3:33:07) and Milena Dobreva from Tri Team Varna (3:53:52).
The top three in the U20 boys were Peter Kashlov from Burgas, Boyan Goranov from Sofia and Artem Zankovski from Sofia, while in the U20 girls the podium went to Kristina Petkova from Gabrovo and Tsvetelina Hristova from Sofia. Alexey Vassilev from Sliven was the fastest in the veteran men over 50.
