Traditionally the Holiday of Rila is celebrated in the beginning of August. This year the dates are 4^th and 5^th of August and the place is well known – Musala hut, one of the first mountain huts in Bulgaria, established in the year 1924.

The holiday is organized by the touristic club “Rilski turist” (Rila’s tourist), Borosport and Samokov municipality. Every year hundreds of people from Bulgaria and nearby countries take part in the hiking to the highest peak in the Balkans – Musala.

For those who wish, on April 4^th free busses will ride the tourists to “Yastrebets” gondola’s bottom station where they could take the lift.

As per tradition Borosport reduces the prices for the two-way lift tickets. On 4th and 5th of August the tickets for adults will cost 8 BGN and for children 4 BGN.

The working hours will be longer and the ticket desks will open at 7.45 in the morning.

Hikers from any ages will join the celebrations near Musala hut. There the chorus “Tourists veterans” will perform traditional alpine songs.  The hike to peak Musala will start from the hut and will be led by the most qualified mountain guides in Rila.

The participants can participate in the Facebook game, organized by Sport Depot and Borosport. Take a sticker "I❤️Rila " from Adventure Center Borosport in hotel Rila or from gondola "Yastrebets'" bottom station. Post a picture in Facebook  with #ILoveRila while hiking to the top and you can win one of the many prices.
