What is technical snow?
We can no longer imagine a modern ski resort without a snowmaking system. Not only climate challenges require this, but also our requirements as skiers and snowboarders.
What is technical snow? Basically, it is a mixture of water and air under high pressure at appropriate temperatures and air humidity. Therefore, it is a 100% ecological process. Simulating the natural processes in nature, in which snow is formed. From the Alps to the desert, water freezes at 0 degrees Celsius. At positive temperatures, these snowflakes turn into water droplets. In practice, we do not use the water, we store it. During spring, the snow will melt and gradually return to where it came from.
Our snowmaking system is the latest generation. We use the latest generation of snow guns, but the difference from the first guns to the newest ones is in productivity and energy consumption - the process is the same!
Operating a ski resort is a challenge – where nature is THE BOSS. Whether the air currents will bring more snowfall here or there is the BOSS’ decision. Altitude is important, but not decisive. We witness different “scenarios” every year.
So friends, don’t be angry with us if we haven’t always provided enough snow, “haven’t stopped” the wind, make snow exactly during your vacation, or we’re “too lazy” to make snow.
Let’s not forget that outdoor sports hide all these challenges and that’s part of the charm of riding on the white slopes of the mountain!
