Level 1: Easy load

Suitable for everyone who wants to experience the magic of Rila mountain. These are half-day tours and take between 2 and 4 hours. The tours are perfect for families with children or just a group of friends. We offer 3 routes in this category.

Level 2: Medium load

In this category the tours a a bit more challenging than level 1 tours. These routes can take you to the most iconic sights and peaks in Rila mountain. The tours take between 5 and 8 hours. We offer 5 routes in this category.

Level 3: High load

These tours require good mountaineering  experience with good physical ability. The routes often last between 7 and 9 hours.  At certain places using mountaineering equipment is necessary - ropes, helmets, seats. We offer 3 routes in this category.

Level 4: Experts only  

These routes are slightly more challenging that those in level 3. They last between 9 and 11 hours. We offer 2 routes in this category.   

Mountain or any other type of insurance is recommended. Additional insurance is included in the price of level 3 and 4 tours.

Tour "Chernata Skala"

Level 1: Easy load

Starting point-the Borosport Information center in the Rila hotel. The tour is relatively easy and the final destination – the tourist landmark Black Rock (“Chernata Skala”) is reached between 1.5-2 hours walk. The journey crosses century old pine forests and is suitable for families with children and inexperienced tourists.

Level 1: Easy load

Тhis tour starts from the Borosport Information Centre in hotel Rila.
It passes through the old forest school, the eco-trail "Pesako", the old centre and the only entirely wooden church in Bulgaria. The route continues through the preserved villas in the resort and a visit to the Tsarska Bistritsa Royal Residence. The walk is accompanied by interesting facts, stories and legends about the path of the resort from Chamkoria to Borovets.

Level 1: Easy load

This tour starts from the Borosport Information Centre in hotel Rila.
Ascent with the "Sitnyakovo Express" chairlift. A visit to Sitnyakovska Skala. The route passes by the hunting lodge of King Ferdinand - today's Sitnyakovo Palace and continues to Saragyol Palace and Chakar Voyvoda Hut.

Tour "Sitnyakovska Skala"

Level 1: Easy load

This tour is suitable for families with children and inexperienced tourists. The ascent to the area is made by Sitniakovo Express chairlift. The tour crosses a lovely area with fantastic panoramic views. It also passes by the hunting lodge of Tzar Ferdinand – today’s Sitniakovo royal residence. Two options are available for the way back- either walking down the Sitnyakovo road or riding on the four-seater lift.

Tour "The rocks of Chamkoria"

Level 1: Easy load

Suitable for families with children and inexperienced tourists. The tour starts with the open lift "Sitnyakovo Express". The hike passes through a beautiful area with magnificent panoramic views. The tour passes by the hunting winter hut of Tsar Ferdinand - today's Sitniakovo Royal residence, after which the road deviates tо Gvardeyska Polyana and continues to the Black Rock. The tour ends in front of the office of the Information Center at Rila Hotel.

Tour to "Chakar Voyvoda" lodge

Level 2: Easy to medium load

The ascent starts from the upper station of the open chair lift "Sitnyakovo Express", then passes by the hunting lodge of Tzar Ferdinand – now Sitnyakovo Royal residence and reaches Chakar Voivoda lodge. After a short break, the journey continues to Saragiol royal residence at the foot of mount Shatar. The way back is on the same route.

Tour "Sweet Waters"

Level 2: Medium

The ascent starts from the upper station of the open chair lift "Sitnyakovo Express", then passes by the panoramic viewpoint of "Sitnyakovo Rock" and continues to Chakar Voivoda lodge. After a short break, the journey continues to Saragiol royal residence at the foot of mount Shatar. Then the tour continues to the area "Sweet Waters" from where the route passes through the dense forests of the Rila мountains and reaches back to "Sitnyakovo Express".

Tour "Iconostasis"

Level 1: Easy to medium load

Starting from Borosport Adventure Center and ride with "Sitnyakovo express" lift. Passing "Sitnyakovska skala"  and reaching "Musalenska pathway". Hiking to "Iconostasis" and reaching "Yastrebets" gondola's midle station. 

Duration: 3 hours

Available only Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Tour “Deno”

Level 2: Medium load

Ride by Gondola lift to Yastrebets hut. Musala lodge is reached in one hour. The journey then continues towards the foot of Deno peak, where a panoramic view opens to the valley of Musalenska Bistritsa river, at the West and to the Saragiol circus, at the North-East. The tour continues to Chakar Voivoda lodge and Sitnyakovo royal residence. The return is with the chairlift Sitnyakovo Express.

Tour "Seven Rila Lakes"

Level 2: Medium load

Transfer from Borovets to Panichishte resort. Ride to the Rila lakes lodge on the open chairlift. The tour includes a visit to all seven lakes, goes down again with the chairlift to Pionerska lodge and then back to the Rila hotel. The transfer to Panichishte and back is included.

Tour to "Musala" Peak

Level 3: High load

Gathering point at the Borosport  Information center in the Rila hotel. The tour starts from the upper station of Yastrebets Gondola lift with an easy hike to Musala chalet. The journey passes by the beautiful Musala lakes and reaches the highest peak on the Balkans – Musala peak  (2 925 m) which features picturesque panoramic views.

Tour to "Malyovitsa" Peak

Level 3: High load

Departure and provided transfer from Borovets to Malyovitsa mountain base. In about one hour, you will reach the chalet. From there, the climb begins to the peak, which opens to one of the most stunning panoramic views towards the Rila mountains and the Rila monastery.

Tour to "Yonchevo lake" and "Scary lake"

Level 3: High load

Transportation from Adventure center Borosport in hotel Rila to mountain school Malyovitsa. Hiking from there to "Yonchevo lake", the trace goes to "Scary lake", passes "Malyovitsa" hut and finishes at the start point - Malyovitsa mountain school.

Duration: 8 hours
