Borovets celebrated World Snow Day for 9th year in a row
On Saturday 18th January Borovets celebrated World Snow Day for 9th year in a row. Lots of ski and snowboard adventures, races, demos, sunshine and music marked the festive day.
The celebrations started at 10 am with the first group of free beginners ski & snowboard lessons with the professional instructors from Ski School Borosport, which continued throughout the whole day. For only 1 BGN the youngest guest could make their first steps in skiing in the dedicated park Borokids. During the whole day the ski pass for children was also reduced to only 1 BGN.
At 11 am the more experienced young skiers took part in the ski slalom on the dedicated track next to Iglika drag lift. 30 boys and girls showed great techniques and were greeted at the finish line by the Bulgarian ski legend - Petar Popangelov. The champion awarded the winners and gave useful tips to all participants.
In the afternoon BEFSA (The Bulgarian Extreme & Freestyle Ski Association) joined the celebration with interesting demonstration on avalanche safety.
The day continued with lots of snow games by hotel Rila entertainment team.
Some of the trendies Bulgarian pop singers joined Radio Fresh music stage in front of hotel RIla, making sure that the good mood was fully on.
The celebration of the World Snow Day are part of FIS global initiative which this year took place in 45 countries, spreading love for winter adventures to thousands of children across the globe.
