116 boys and girls from Sofia district spent unforgettable days in Borovets
116 boys and girls from Sofia district spent unforgettable days in Borovets and enjoyed the magic of the mountain for the first time in their life. The children were staying at the villa Gorska Polyana, which was complimentary by the District Governor Ilian Todorov in the beginning of the summer. 9 municipalities - Anton, Botevgrad, Elin Pelin, Etropole, Kostenetz, Pirdop, Pravets, Mirkovo and Chelopech have benefited from the proposal. Borosport also became part of the charity initiative by providing tickets for the Yastrebets gondola lift to enable the students to enjoy the breathtaking scenery and feel the mountain's spirit.
The students who stayed in Gorska Polyana villa come from unprivileged families and have achieved excellent grades in school. They spent three days in the luxurious presmises and had the opportunity to have fun, to learn about Orthodox values and to travel in the mountains. The program included many games, a visit to Tsarska Bistritsa Pallace, horseback riding, swimming, walking and other fun activities.
"Many of the children came to the mountain for the first time and were really impressed," said Valentina Vrancheva, a teacher at Hristo Botev Primary School in Ravno Pole. "Some of them came out of their native places for the first time and it was an incredible experience for them. Everyone is very pleased because the conditions are excellent. There were many children willing to come here and the choice was tough. But now the kids will return home rested and motivated to learn even more and to manifest themselves.”
The district government made the promise to give the boys and girls the opportunity to rest in Gorska Polyana next summer again, and Borosport will surely support the initiative again.
