Victoria Goncheva is the new champion in the Borovets Open Cup 2017 womans race
The 16 year old Victoria Goncheva from the Gravity Sports Club won the women's title at the Borovets Open Cup 2017 International Mountain Biking Race. She managed to take the downhill of the Borovets Bike Park trail with the fastest time and won 100 points for the rankings in the Bulgarian Downhill Series.
"I am pleased with the final result because in the final round I was with about 20 seconds faster compared to the qualifications," Victoria said after raising the cup. – “I was injured and that's a good achievement. Besides, I finished with a tire out without even knowing how it happened. The Borovets Bike Park track was good, but at the end it became more rough, making riding very difficult. On 7th and 8th of October the last start for the Bulgarian Downhill Series will take place and this will be the end of the season. Next year I want to take part in the World Cup series and if I find funding I will not miss a single one. I have a huge chance to finish in the top 5 or top 3, which will be a great success for me and for Bulgaria. I want to thank Borosport for being my biggest support in this sport and I hope we will continue to work together. "
