On 3rd of March, the national holiday of Bulgaria, the country celebrates the anniversary of its Liberation from the five century-long Ottoman rule. On this day, in 1878, in the village of San Stefano a preliminary peace treaty between Russia and the Ottoman empire was signed, declaring the beginning of the Third Bulgarian Kingdom.
