On 5^th of October 2019 a person with disabilities was able to reach the foot of the highest peak of the Balkan Peninsula – Mount Musala (2925 m.). The Bulgarian Vladimir Gyurov reached Yastrebets peak with gondola “Yastrebets” and started his journey to Musala hut – the starting point for ascending Musala peak.  

Vlady was able to accomplish his dream with the help of a Bulgarian invention – an electric wheelchair able to tackle a variety of terrains – sand, stones, gravel and more. The wheelchair is a product of the Bulgarian inventor Ivaylo Kolev and his team and allows people with mobility disadvantages to explore the mountains.

The climbing started at 10:00 AM on Saturday with the support of Borosport providing the carriage platform used for transportation of the electric wheelchair. From the top station he started his journey to the Musala hut, accompanied by Ivaylo and his team. Vlady reached the hut for an hour and a half.

In July 2019 Vladimir Gyurov reached “Cherni vrah” on Vitosha mountain, now he reached even higher point  - “Musala” hut. For his new capstone Vlady said: „It is hard sometimes but this is part of the experience. If it is easy it is not interesting!”

With this achievement Vlady gave example to many people with physical disabilities to follow their dreams and that no peaks are unreachable!
