Samokov Municipality and the potato farmers in the region will organize the “Potato Fest” this year between 16^th and 18^th November. As usual the 3 festive days will be fulfilled with many events and surprises.

The Samokov region is popular in Bulgaria not only with great conditions for winter sports, but also with the production of the most delicious Bulgarian potatoes.  Hundreds of local residents and guests are expected to take part in the celebrations. Many people join the festival to taste the unique flavor of the samokovi potato, known in the region as “kompir”.

During the festival we will have the opportunity to sample traditional and contemporary dishes with potatoes from Samokov. In the last year’s school culinary exhibition, there were potato cake, potato skewers, rolls and even little potato petit fours. For sure this year’s competition will offer more attractive options.

The “Potato fest” offers to everybody great cultural program with talented participants from Samokov and the region.
