Two ski races for children aged 6 - 12 from Samokov and the region will take place on ski trail Yastrebets 3. 

The race "120 years Borovets" is open for all children non-members of the ski clubs from Samokov and the municipality. All children members of the ski clubs in the region can take part in the Regional championship. 

The start to "120 years Borovets" will be given by the ski legend Peter Popangelov at 10.00 a.m. Fifteen minutes after the end of the first race the children from the ski clubs will compete in the firsт round of the Regional championship.

The prize giving ceremony will be held one hour after the end of the races in front of Rila hotel and will be attended by the resigned sport minister Krasen Kralev and the mayor of Samokov Municipality.

The two competitions are the first two organized ski events for the season and the first snowboard competition is coming soon! 

The two races are initiated by the newly created fond "Petar Popangelov and friends for Borovets", which aims at encouraging the development of winter sports among young people in the region. After the big celebration for the 120th anniversary of the resort, 50 000 BGN were raised for the fond and many other fundraising initiatives will follow in 2017.
