For another year, the traditional race Rila Run will challenge all mountain runners. The race will take place on Sunday 11th August and the organisers from Marathon Association, Samokov Municipality and Borosport promise an exciting event, filled with sport emotions and breathtaking sceneries.

More than 100 participants form the country and abroad will conquer the 21-kilometar track. The starts is at 10 am in Samokov, in the park of the Tourist garden. The track goes through Laka, Sokoletz, Yastrebets peak, Musala hut, shelter Ledenoto ezero and finished on the highest peak on the Balkans - peak Musala. Four refreshment stations will be positioned on the track - 1. Sokolets (8 km, 1400 m alt.); 2. Yastrebetz (14km, 2350 m alt.); 3. Hut Musala (18 km, 2389 m alt.); 4. Ledenoto ezero (19.5 km, 2709 m alt.)

The run will take place in several categories: Men, Women, Junior men and women up to 20, Masters 40+, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70.
